The 31st Annual Winterfest was held at Vellore Village on Sunday, February 9th, an event that truly had something for everyone in the family to participate in. Mayor Bevilacqua opened the festivities as an occasion that brings family, friends and neighbours together to experience the beauty of winter this time of year. A cherished tradition, this is an event that is "uniquely Vaughan." There were a number of activities for the kids from arts and crafts, maple taffy pulling, bouncy castles and face painting to a tween spa for the older teens and for young adults and all those who love the amusement park - a ferris wheel, midway rides, food trucks and more! Featuring "old school" transportation in the form or horse and carriage rides and "new school" transportation in the form of CN's "Little Obie Train" there was no shortage of ways to get around the winterfest event. TD, Tim Hortons and a number of other sponsors helped bring this event to life as did a variety of entertainers like Pinkfong & Baby Shark, The Magic of Aaaron Matthews, Fabulous Feud, and Kreative In Dance Styles. Did we mention the free pancake breakfast? What a fabulous way to celebrate all things winter at the City of Vaughn Winterfest!
