Case closed: What’s cancelled in Vaughan in light of coronavirus
Every York Region municipality has closed and cancelled events and facilities

Municipalities across York Region are cancelling events and closing doors in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Here's how programs and facilities are impacted in Vaughan:
- Vaughan City Hall and the Joint Operations Centre will be closed to the public. The following counter service programs are impacted: green bin and blue bin exchange programs, tree removal permits, curb cutting applications, garbage tags, general inquiries and topping of bulk water sales;
- Council, committee and task force meetings are cancelled until April 10;
- All community centres and library branches will be closed until April 6, including community centre permits/rentals, recreational and library programming, swimming pools, arenas and fitness facilities as well as the City Playhouse Theatre;
- All city, library March break camps and daycare programming will be cancelled. Refunds for registered programs will be issued automatically;
- Fire Station tours and the Vaughan Animal Shelter is closed to the public.
City-led events are being reviewed on a case-by-case basis. The following events have been cancelled:
- Family Night with Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service on March 18;
- Local Off-Leash Dog Area Open House on March 24;
- Earth Hour Vaughan on March 28;
- Kleinburg Parking Strategy Drop-in Information and Feedback Session on April 1;
- Animal Services Microchip and Rabies Clinic on April 7;
