Vaughan is developing a new seven-hectare community park at the northwest corner of Peter Rupert Avenue and Rutherford Road, directly south of the Cook Woodlands.
JUST THE FACTS
- Vaughan is engaged in a public consultation process to help with the planning, design and development of the community park and determine park features and amenities.
- The park will likely include playground structures, water play, new trail connections and places to gather and connect with family and friends.
- Funding for the planning, design and development is identified in the city’s new capital growth budget forecast, estimated to be about $5.7 million.
- Located in Block 18 and known as the Peter Rupert Park Project, the site was identified as an ideal space for a new community park through public consultation and stakeholder discussion during the planning and design of the residential neighbourhoods. The name for the park has not yet been confirmed. The design development process will begin in spring to summer of 2020.
