Just days after hitting the pause button on new jury trials, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice is suspending its operations this week.
The court tweeted on Sunday night that all operations, with the exception of urgent civil, family or criminal matters, will be put on hold indefinitely, beginning Tuesday.
Urgent public health and safety matters aren’t expected to be impacted.
On Friday, Chief Justice Geoffrey Morawetz suspended all new jury trials, as well as jury panels for upcoming matters, part of efforts to contain the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
