The interchange at Hwy. 400 and Lloydtown-Aurora Road is being reconstructed and the 16th Sideroad overpass bridge is being replaced.
Just the Facts:
The Lloydtown-Aurora Road interchange is about three kilometres south of Hwy. 9 in King Township.
The 16th Sideroad overpass bridge is about five kilometres south of the Lloydtown-Aurora Road interchange.
The Transportation Ministry project started in fall 2017 and the interchange is expected to be completed in summer 2022.
The construction involves the widening of Hwy. 400 to accommodate traffic staging and future median HOV lanes.
A new five-metre-high noise wall on the west side of Hwy. 400, south of 19th Sideroad, will be constructed.
A new carpool lot in the southwest corner of Hwy. 400/Lloydtown-Aurora Road interchange will be constructed.
The overpass bridge is expected to be completed in summer 2020. The project completion was delayed due to environmental issues.
The 16th Sideroad underpass running beneath Hwy. 400 is closed.
The budget for the project is $67 million, which includes the construction on the interchange and overpass.
