Chanukah Menorah Lighting

A community Chanukah Menorah Lighting took place December 22, 2019 at the North Thornhill Community Centre with hundreds attending from the area and a distinguished list of guests also in attendance. Bringing greetings were MP Peter Kent, Councillor Sandra Yeung Racco, Regional Councillors Gino Rosatti and Linda Jackson and also MPP Stephen Lecce. Hosted by the Chabad Russian Centre of Thornhill Woods, Rabbi Chaim Hildeshaim lit the 9ft Menorah of Warmth. There were also activities for the children including face painting, bouncy castles, games and crafts along with a magic show and the event also served as an opportunity to collect winter accessories like hats and mittens to be donated, along with care packages, to those folks most in need this season.
