Have a question about a town program, service, department or project? There are many sources of information, one of which are the Service Georgina shows on Rogers TV. Each show is broadcast for two weeks with a new show every other Sunday and they are then archived for viewing any time.

Join me while I talk with staff from various departments on topics ranging from recreation programs, the new Short Term Rental Bylaw and planning questions, including zoning on properties, development applications and the Keswick Secondary Plan currently underway.

I also talk with our fire chief on our newest fire truck and the new fire boat purchased in partnership with the Chippewas of Georgina Island. We also talk about the speed of fires and open air burning permits.

Have a question about building permits and the process involved or want learn more about accessory apartments? Join me when I talk with staff from our building department on both of those topics.

Confused about what goes into the green or blue bins? I talk with staff about “what goes where” and the Recycle Coach app you can download on your phone with all the information at your fingertips.

The town is in the process of planning several major building projects. Hear where we are in the design of the MURC and the Civic Centre and learn about the financial plan for these projects.

Learn about our economic development department and the Development Application Fee rebates and Community Betterment Grants. Plus, hear an update on the privately owned Business Park. I also talk with staff about our broadband strategy and how YorkNet and the Connect to Innovate grant will bring high-speed fibre into areas of Georgina.

Going to the source for information on town topics is also available on our website georgina.ca, the town page here in the Advocate and by requesting town newsletters such as the eNewsletter and Economic Development and Tourism Newsletter.

Still have a question, email any member of council. We are all happy to talk with you on your concerns. Mayor Margaret Quirk, mquirk@georgina.ca.
