Families were invited to “take a step back in time and experience the magic of a Victorian Christmas” at Historic Wallace House on the weekend of Saturday, November 30th and Sunday, December 1st. The event was a free outdoor community focussed party that took place in the heart of Woodbridge Village and which featured a variety of old-fashion Christmas-inspired activities, sights and sounds for the whole family to enjoy. Just like in the Victorian era there was live music, a lantern walk, a special story time with Mrs. Claus, crafts and horse and wagon rides. Putting a more modern spin on things there was also a tree lighting ceremony, pictures with Santa (including selfies!) food trucks and a pop-up holiday market. Families could warm up by the community lounge and fire pit and do crafts in the library. All of this, as we mentioned, was FREE while also serving as a great opportunity to spread Christmas joy with a donation to either the Food Bank or to Wallace House.
