York Region is rehabilitating the bridge on Keele Street, north of Teston Road, in Vaughan and it's going to impact local drivers.

How construction will affect you: Keele Street will remain open to traffic during construction and access to residences and businesses will be maintained. In the construction area, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Work may also occur during evening/nighttime hours.

Construction: Expected to be completed in summer 2020. Construction has already begun and is ongoing.

Why Keele Street is being reduced to one lane in each direction: To help facilitate construction.

Why project didn’t start in the spring/summer: Permits had to be obtained before construction could begin, which takes time.

Access to area properties: Keele Street remains open to traffic during construction, and access to residences and businesses will be maintained.

Cost: The cost of construction is approximately $2.5 million.
