Stretch of Rutherford Road in Vaughan to be closed temporarily

Closure Jan. 17 to 19 due to work on remodelled Rutherford GO Station

Rutherford Road will be temporarily closed between Westburne Drive and Peter Rupert Avenue from Friday, Jan. 17 at 11 p.m. to Sunday, Jan. 19 at 7 a.m.

The road closure is part of Metrolinx’s plan to remodel Rutherford GO Station.

Closing Rutherford will allow Metrolinx’s contractors to safely undertake a track panel installation.

During this time, the road will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians and detour routes will be in place.

Traffic heading east on Rutherford Road will detour north or south via Keele Street.

Traffic heading west on Rutherford Road will detour north or south via Dufferin Street.

The remodelled Rutherford GO Station will offer more parking, a new station building and customer amenities, according to Metrolinx.
