Hangin' Out Together - Caring for Others - Changing Lives

A recent well-attended get together at The Avani Centre was held in support of a very special program and saw a number of special guests in attendance. The program the attendees of this evening event were celebrating is called “Hangin' Out Together,” a drop-in program whose focus is to bring together people with special needs. The lovely evening was scheduled to include Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua bringing special remarks and both MP Francesco Sorbara and MPP Michael Tibollo were in attendance. The “Hangin’ Out Together” program meets at the Father Ermanno Bulfon Community Centre and is meant to be a safe space where folks with different abilities feel they are valued members of the community. It provides stimulating social and recreational experiences that challenge the body and the mind and is considered to be “a haven for our members.” The free program helps change “isolation to inclusion; depression to celebration and disability to ability.” Thanks to all who were in attendance, including special guests!
