WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?: Georgina's Church Street getting new water services

Georgina is revamping the Church Street area with new water services and accessibility features.
Just the facts:
- Construction locations include: Church Street between Metro and Shorecrest roads; Shorecrest Road between Metro Road and Church Street; and Shoreline Place starting at Church Street and moving south;
- Construction started in November and is expected to be complete by summer 2020;
- Construction work includes: Water service replacements along Church Street; replacing three fire hydrants along Church Street; new culverts along Shoreline Place; installing new sidewalks and curbs along Church Street; new asphalt on Church Street, Shorecrest Road and Shoreline Place; and drainage enhancements and accessibility features at the Church Street Parkette;
- Underground work, such as connecting water services and replacing fire hydrants are complete. The remaining work will continue in spring 2020;
- There will be come localized closures during construction. Crews will be on hand directing traffic;
- The budget for the project is about $995,000.
