Flood Farmstead Park has been the object of disagreement since about half of residents wanted a tennis court and the rest preferred a multi-use court, said Patrick Lee, Richmond Hill's director of policy planning, in a Richmond Hill Liberal article in May.

JUST THE FACTS

Construction: Construction will finish at the end of November (weather permitting). This park is a new park. It is not a revitalization of a pre-existing park.

Cost: Approved construction budget is $1,099,800

Reason: The park was chosen for development to provide parkland in an underserviced area, as per the recommendations of the city’s parks plan (2013).

Features: Multi-sports court and junior and senior playgrounds

User age: The proposed playground equipment is designed and intended for children 18 months old to 12 years of age. The proposed multisport court is designed for all ages. City parks are open to users of all ages.
