Diwali Celebrations at Vellore Village Community Centre

Vellore Village Community Centre played host to a special celebration as the South Asian Association of Vaughan hosted Diwali Celebrations on October 5, 2019. The packed to capacity event featured a number of special guests including Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua, Regional Councillor Linda Jackson and Councillor Rosanna DeFrancesca who lit symbolic candles together with members of the association. Diwali, the Festival of Lights, typically takes place in autumn each year and celebrates the triumph of good over evil. The festivities also included the Mayor and attendees waving sparklers in celebration and many guests sporting beautiful and colourful cultural attire. It was a great evening enjoyed by all.
