13th Annual Savour York Region Thanksgiving Food Drive

An important event that will have a lasting impact on community took place recently with the support of a number of individuals, businesses, and Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and members of Council. Plan B Promotions, together with the FORTINOS located at 3940 Highway #7 as well as the Vaughan Fire & Rescue Service all took part in the 13th ANNUAL Savour York Region Thanksgiving Food Drive benefiting the Vaughan Food Bank. Kicking off at Franchisee Joey Consentino’s Fortino's location, customers and guests were invited to shop for a cause. Inside the store there were pre-packaged food bank bags available for purchase and plenty of firefighters on hand to help pack your groceries while outside. There was also a booth collecting monetary donations. Those that donated $20 or more received a free pumpkin. SavorYorkRegion.ca reminds us that as we anticipate the fall season and upcoming holidays like Thanksgiving that “hunger takes no holiday.” It is times like these that the support of community to help fund the Vaughan Food Bank is critical. The food bank is also supported by contributions from various Corporations, and individuals and all funds raised go directly toward supporting its day to day operations. The Vaughan Food Bank, together with the support of community through special events like this, ensures all families and individuals in need of assistance are taken care of.
