What's going on here: Millard Avenue Newmarket getting new water mains, sewers

The town is currently replacing old sewers and water main services.
Just the facts:
- Location: Millard Avenue, between Lorne Avenue and Queen Street, adjacent to Haskett Park.
- Millard Avenue and on-road bike lanes remain closed during construction.
- Construction started in August 2019 and will continue to December 2019.
- The project includes replacing the existing culvert, water main and sanitary pipe with a new culvert, water main and pipe; realigning the Haskett Park parking lot entrance on the west end; and installing accessible tactile plates at crossings.
- Crews are also installing a pedestrian island to accommodate safe crossing and connect with future trails on the north and south sides of Millard Avenue. The new multi-use trail, connected to the east-west bike route along Millard Avenue, is expected to travel through Haskett Park north to Davis Drive.
- The tennis courts at Haskett Park is closed for the season due to construction on Millard Avenue. Tennis courts are available at Lions Park.
- The budget for the project is about $2 million.
