The town is reconstructing The Queensway and adding sewers and storm-sewer services.
Just the facts:
- Location: The Queensway, north of Church Street
- Construction started summer of 2019 and is expected to be completed by spring 2020.
- The town is installing water lines, sanitary sewers and storm sewers in preparation for the new Treasure Hill subdivision to the east.
- Crews are also working to replace a small box culvert north of the Keswick Gardens Senior Apartments. The project also includes installing a guardrail. Once complete, the roadway will be wide enough to accommodate sidewalks and curbs, to be built at a future date.
- At the same time, the town is repaving The Queensway and Simcoe Avenue, increasing the asphalt thickness on The Queensway at the Simcoe Avenue and Henry Street intersections. Also, a new accessible sidewalk and sidewalk crossing will be installed on the east side of The Queensway, from Simcoe Avenue to the Keswick Veterinary Clinic.
- The town’s portion for reconstructing the box culvert is about $560,000.
