Vaughan celebrates official opening of Chatfield District Park

Residents and visitors have a new and exciting gathering place to get their play on- Chatfield District Park in Ward 3. Whether it be sliding, swinging, splashing, climbing or crawling, the new park offers plenty of space to run around, relax and enjoy. Located at 100 Lawford Rd., the 14-acre (5.7 hectare) park includes junior and senior playgrounds with slides, swings, climbing nets, crawl spaces, monkey bars, spinners and more. Play on the soccer field, basketball courts, ball hockey park, lit tennis courts and softball diamond. Additional features and play zones include a splash pad, skate park, greenspaces, shade structure, parking, and accessible swings, washrooms and change room. To officially celebrate the opening, Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council joined the community for a ribbon-cutting ceremony, entertainment and light refreshments.
