The 7th Annual Vaughan Parkinson SuperWalk took place on Sunday September 8 with supporters, family, friends and many volunteers all donating their time toward making this fundraising event such a success. The Parkinson Canada SuperWalk is Canada’s only nationwide fundraiser dedicated to supporting those living with Parkinson’s disease. For many, the motivation to participate, in the words of organizers, is to show that “with the same strength of spirit of people living with Parkinson’s demonstrate daily, we will not stop walking until there is a cure. No Matter What.” This same sense of determination showed throughout the morning long event as participants gathered bright and early to register, celebrated the opening ceremony at 10:30am and then began their walk from Vaughan City Hall --this lovely location serving as the official starting point for the walk. Across Canada more than 80 locations and 10,000 people typically take part in this charitable initiative and together they have raised more than $38 million since 1990. Thanks to everyone who came out this year and who consistently support those living with Parkinson’s.
