The Regional Municipality of York will be closing Major Mackenzie Drive between Islington Avenue and Pine Valley Drive in the City of Vaughan for two nights: Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019 and Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Local access will be maintained for properties within the closed section.

The two overnight closures are needed to complete installation of a concrete barrier on the south side of Major Mackenzie Drive. The barrier will protect the public and workers during the continued reconstruction of this section of road.

Reconstruction in this area is part of the overall improvement project to Major Mackenzie Drive from Highway 50 to Highway 400 and is anticipated to be complete in fall 2021.
