It should be a little easier to find parking at the East Gwillimbury GO Train station.

On Sept. 12, Christine Elliott, MPP for Newmarket-Aurora, and Caroline Mulroney, MPP for York-Simcoe, announced that Ontario has added 115 new parking spaces at East Gwillimbury GO Station to make it easier for customers to access GO train and bus service.

“I’m thrilled to announce that we are improving daily commutes for GO customers in East Gwillimbury with this parking expansion,” Elliott said. “This expansion will add much needed capacity that will support future growth.”

“We are making it faster and easier for people in York Region to get where they need to go by expanding parking at East Gwillimbury GO,” Mulroney said. “These improvements are part of our government’s commitment to make life easier and get people moving.”

With 115 new spaces open to the public, Ontario has added a total of 365 new surface parking spaces at East Gwillimbury GO since November 2018.

GO Transit’s Barrie rail line experienced the largest jump in ridership growth within the Metrolinx train network between April and July 2019.
