Aurora’s Desjardins Pool is out of commission while crews work to repair the ceiling and paint.

Just the Facts:

• Location: Aurora Family Leisure Complex;

• Restoration work started July 2 and is expected to be complete by Aug. 23;

• The town is retrofitting and installing LED lighting in the pool area, hockey arena and squash courts;

• Repair work is also being done on the ceiling in the pool area, as well as general improvements to the pool and painting;

• During the temporary closure, lane and leisure swimming, aquafit classes and pool rentals are available at the Stronach Aurora Recreation Complex;

• The pool change rooms and lockers will not be available during the temporary closure;

• The budget for the pool restoration is $76,000, which includes $20,000 for lighting and $56,000 for repair work and painting;

• The Stronach Aurora Recreation Complex pool will be closed Sept. 3 to 15 for routine maintenance;
