Here's where to beat the heat in Newmarket

With the forecast warmer weather and extreme heat and humidity scheduled to last until Friday, residents looking to beat the heat can visit a Town of Newmarket facility during its regular hours of operation. 

Residents and visitors are welcome to visit the following to escape the heat:

Municipal offices, 395 Mulock Dr., weekdays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Magna Centre, 800 Mulock Dr., weekdays 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., weekends 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Ray Twinney Complex, 100 Eagle St. W., Monday, Wednesday, Friday 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Tuesday, Thursday 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Newmarket Public Library, 438 Park Ave., Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday, Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday 1 to 5 p.m.

Residents can also beat the heat by visiting one of Newmarket’s public swimming pools during a scheduled public swim, water feature, or spray pad:

Ray Twinney Complex, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 2:30 to 4 p.m., 6:30 to 8 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday 2:30 to 4 p.m.

Metro Aquatic Centre at the Magna Centre, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 10:45 a.m. to 12 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday 6 to 8 p.m.

Tim Hortons Water Feature at Riverwalk Commons, seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. (no admittance fee)

Gorham Outdoor Pool, 424 D’Arcy St., weekdays 1 to 8 p.m., weekends 1 to 6 p.m.

Rogers Spray Pad, 170 London Rd., seven days a week 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Frank Stronach Spray Pad, 850 Memorial Circle, seven days a week 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
