Celebrate the Launch of Markham's First Community Bike Hub
Markham.ca
July 2, 2019
You are invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony with cake and a community ride to celebrate the launch of Markham’s first community bike hub. Frank Scarpitti, Mayor of Markham, will be speaking. We will also hear from Aftab Hirani, a newcomer to cycling, who used the community bicycle hub and has gained confidence riding on suburban streets and feels more connected to his community.
This summer and fall, the new hub called Markham Cycles, funded by Environment and Climate Change Canada, will host community rides and bike repair workshops, a bike mentorship and loan program, e-bike try-outs and other bike-related activities. Through the hub, participants will be encouraged to make greener travel choices.
