Have your say on the future of health care in South Simcoe and York Region

Southlake Regional Health Centre is proposing an Ontario Health Team, and looking for community input

What kind of health services do you need? Where should they be delivered? Are you finding gaps in the current health system? Do you find the system difficult to navigate?

Residents of South Simcoe and northern York Region are being asked to speak up and help shape the future of community health care, as the province moves to modernize Ontario’s health system.

Southlake Regional Health Centre and its partners – Extendicare, Aurora--Newmarket Family Health Team, Georgina Nurse Practitioner--Led Clinic, Bayshore Health Care, LOFT community services, Canadian Mental Health Association, CHATS, Enhanced Care Clinic, Southlake Academic Family Health Team and York Region EMS – are hosting a series of Community Open Forums, to discuss the future of healthcare.

The first of a series of Community Open Forums will be held in Bradford West Gwillimbury on Tuesday, June 11, from 7--9 p.m. at the BWG Public Library’s Zima Room, 425 Holland St. W. All are welcome to attend and provide input.

Other meetings will be held in Sharon on June 17, at the East Gwillimbury Sports Complex from 7--9 p.m.; Aurora on June 24 at the Town of Aurora council chambers, 7--9 p.m., and in Newmarket on June 25, at the Newmarket Community Centre, 200 Doug Duncan Dr., 7--9 p.m.
