The Markham-Stouffville federal riding --which encompasses the east end of Markham and Whitchurch-Stouffville has only been in existence at the federal level since 2015.

Area: 282.59 square kilometres
Population: 126,064 (2016 census)
Population density: 446.1 per square kilometre
Average age: 39.3
Average household income: $125,201
The Race:
Theodore Antony --Conservative
Jane Philpott --Independent
Background:
The riding will be one of the most watched in Canada this election because incumbent Jane Philpott has turned in her Liberal stripes to run as an Independent after being booted from the Liberal caucus early in 2019.
Philpott is the only previous MP in the riding.
