WHAT'S GOING ON HERE: Construction at Richmond Hill's Montiel and Tampico roads

Roads being upgraded to meet city’s urban standards

If you have travelled in the area of Montiel Road and Tampico Road, near Bradstock Park, in the Yonge and Elgin Mills area of Richmond Hill, you may have noticed some work being done but what’s it all about?

Just the Facts:

Work began: June 3

Work will work finish: Construction is anticipated to be completed by September 2019.

Will work interrupt drivers?: Montiel and Tampico roads are closed during construction. Only local traffic is permitted.

What work is being done?: Montiel and Tampico roads will be reconstructed to urban standards, including asphalt pavement, curbs, gutters and storm sewers. In addition to the road improvements, the existing cast-iron water main will be replaced, due to its age and condition.

Why work is being done?: The roads are being upgraded to meet the city’s urban standards and to replace aging water infrastructure.
