Police make 3 more arrests in Vaughan Pierre Berton library shooting

Arrests of 3 Brampton men come after Vaughan youth arrested earlier

Three remaining suspects have been arrested in connection to a shooting June 3 in the parking lot of Pierre Berton Resource Library in Vaughan, which left one youth wounded.

Three Brampton men were arrested over the weekend and face charges, including attempted murder, after a 16-year-old student at nearby Emily Carr Secondary School suffered a minor gunshot wound in the early afternoon incident.

Both the library and school are located on Rutherford Road.

A 17-year-old Vaughan youth was charged June 5 with accessory to attempted murder and accessory after the fact in discharging a weapon with intent.

Police subsequently charged Huzafah Gondal, 18, Anthony Peynado-Tremblett, 19, and Kajan Yoganathan, 18, all of Brampton, with attempted murder, party to attempted murder and possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, among other charges.

Gondal surrendered to police June 8 at around 2 p.m. Peynado-Tremblett was arrested at a Brampton residence just after midnight on June 8. Police arrested Yoganathan June 7 in a vehicle at approximately 6 p.m.
