Gupta Group will be speaking to residents about its new proposed condominium project, which includes a 65-storey highrise building at Yonge and Steeles in Vaughan.

The proposal also includes two 55-storey towers, totalling more than 1,400 condominiums as well as a hotel and office and retail space.

Gupta Group was behind the controversial cancellation of the Icona condos in the city's emerging downtown last year.

While the former Icona buyers had their money fully refunded, they feel that they are outpriced as home prices have taken a sharp upturn from the time of their purchase. Those buyers have been lobbying the City of Vaughan to reject Gupta's latest development application.

In its newsletter, the Spring Farm Thornhill Ratepayers Association asked people not to “miss your opportunity to learn more and speak up. You are invited to attend an information meeting.”

It also said, “This is your chance to talk to our Ward 5 Coun. Alan Shefman, city planning department personnel and the developer to let them know your suggestions and concerns.”

When: Wednesday, May 8, 7 p.m. -- 9 p.m.
