Markham-Stouffville MP Jane Philpott says she will make an announcement about her political plans in Markham on May 27.
The former health minister, minister of Indigenous services and president of the treasury board was booted from the Liberal caucus on April 2 along with former justice minister and attorney general Jody Wilson-Raybould as part of the SNC-Lavalin saga.
Both Philpott and Wilson-Raybould continue to serve as independent MPs.
“Many people have asked about my future political plans,” Philpott tweeted on May 24. “On Monday May 27 at 12:30 pm at Reesor's Farm Market, I'll be making an announcement to constituents in Markham-Stouffville.”
On May 21, Philpott attended a news conference at the York Regional Forest in her riding, where the independent MP said she was “still deciding” whether to run in the Oct. 21 federal election, but her constituents would be the first to know.
