WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?: Ninth Line development, Whitchurch-Stouffville

New subdivision construction to continue to 2022

Recently, construction started on the new Savena Cove subdivision on Ninth Line.

Just the facts:

• Location: 12785 Ninth Line, between Baker Hill Boulevard and Bethesda Sideroad;

• The Savena Cove subdivision, which is about 20 hectares, will include about 140 single-detached homes with an entrance into the community off Ninth Line;

• The neighbourhood also includes about six hectares of land for a multi-use Catholic school for grades JK to 12 as well as a child care centre;

• There are plans to extend the Heritage Walkway as well as an on-street bicycle path and an off-road multi-use trail;

• Currently, fill operations are taking place and will continue to summer 2020, followed by construction of sewers, water main, paved local roads and underground utilities. Building and home construction is expected to be complete by spring 2022;

• The project also includes adding a left turn lane in both north and south directions on Ninth Line.
