Don’t like the million-dollar price tag that comes with the new multi-use recreation complex? Want to see more amenities?
Now, you can have your say on two of Georgina’s major capital projects.
The town is hosting two public input sessions for the community to share concerns and learn more about the town’s plans for the multi-use recreation complex and the new Civic Centre.
Public input sessions:
Earlier this month, members of the Georgina Fair Tax Association called on the town to put a halt on the MURC and Civic Centre projects, at least until after the province’s regional government review.
Recently, the town approved $3.5 million in design projects for both the MURC and the new Civic Centre.
Construction for both projects were scheduled to start in 2020.
The entire budget for the MURC has been pegged at about $42 million and about $27 million for the new Civic Centre, with 90 per cent of funding being paid through development charges.
