A familiar face at the Civic Centre will officially take on the highest administrative seat after a trial run of almost a year.
David Reddon has been appointed the town’s new chief administrative officer, replacing Winanne Grant who retired in January after an extended leave.
Reddon served as acting CAO during that time.
“Having David Reddon as our new CAO just made sense for council,” Mayor Margaret Quirk said of the longtime town employee with more than 38 years of municipal experience covering various roles.
That includes deputy chief administrative officer prior to his acting CAO duties, director of corporate services, and manager of taxation, revenue and customer service.
“Growing up in the community he is so passionate about, combined with his extensive municipal knowledge and genuine respect for our taxpayers, both our community and staff are fortunate to have David at the helm.”
Reddon said that he looks forward to collaborating with council, staff and the community to deliver "nothing less" than effective, responsible and transparent mandates and priorities.
“We will continue our focus of providing exceptional customer service by engaging our community and staff, which is key to successful service delivery excellence for the residents of Georgina," he added.
