Nearly 50 Stouffville employees make Sunshine List

The number of Whitchurch-Stouffville employees on the province’s Sunshine List is steadily increasing.
Thirty-four town employees had salaries that topped $100,000 in 2016 -- that grew to 41 in 2017, followed by 49 in 2018.
Topping the list in 2018 was CAO Roman Martiuk, who hauled in $219,000. Other notable names on the list were Deputy CAO Rob Raycroft ($171,495), Town Solicitor Josh Silver ($170,889) and Treasurer Brian Parrott ($163,722).
The annual public sector salary disclosure, commonly known as the Sunshine List, includes government and provincially-funded agency employees who make $100,000 or more in Ontario.
More than half the list consisted of the town’s fire department, with 26 members breaking the $100,000 threshold. Leading the way was Fire Capt. Fraser Smith, who took home $163,226, followed by Fire Capt. David Wilson, who brought home $155,502. Fire Chief Richard Renaud made $144,153.
