A pastor has announced the start of a new campaign program to raise $600,000 to build a new church in Vaughan.
Rev. Peter Choi, pastor of St. Andre Bessette Parish made the announcement for the building funds to help build the newest Catholic church in Vaughan to top off the $2,780,000 already raised.
Situated on 5.5 acres, St. Andre Bessette Roman Catholic Church will be located at 1085 Major Mackenzie Dr., between Dufferin and Bathurst and offer ample parking.
The church will offer seating for 850 parishioners and a Perpetual Adoration Chapel open 24 hours/day.
The church has plans for activities for seniors, stay at home parents and youth. The estimated cost to construct the new church is $14.5 million. Since 2013, about $2.7 million was raised.
About $386,000 are paid toward the pre-construction phase, which comprises the architect, environment tests and traffic consultants.
