The city of Vaughan wants to ensure the events it offers are commensurate with its status as "a growing cosmopolitan urban centre."

In an effort to achieve that, it's seeking input from stakeholders "who represent organizations that are involved in the planning or delivery of events in Vaughan" through two meetings - both at Vaughan City Hall.

The first was held Thursday, April 18 and the second one is slated for this Wednesday, April 24, 7 to 9 p.m. (Committee Room 242).

"The City understands the importance of events and festivals in making Vaughan vibrant, inclusive and an exciting place to live and work," states a city news release, adding that the plan "will help guide the future framework for events, including City-led, community-led, joint partnerships with the City and community, and new events."

The city canvassed residents during Winterfest 2019 and said it will do so again during the upcoming Concerts in the Park series. Further input will also be sought through an upcoming online survey.
