WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?: New Bloomington GO station rising in Richmond Hill

As part of the plans to increase service along the Richmond Hill GO line, GO Transit is building a new station in the northern part of Richmond Hill.
Just the Facts:
- The new station is located just west of Highway 404 on the southside of Bloomington Road;
- Construction started in 2017 and the station is scheduled to be complete and open in 2020;
- When the station was announced in 2017, the price tag was about $82.4 million;
- Once open, there will be six morning and six afternoon trips to and from the Bloomington GO Station;
- When complete, the station will include: Three-level parking garage with a car counting system to locate empty spaces; 760 parking spaces and 238 surface parking spaces; kiss and ride area; York Region Transit bus bays and local transit connections; bike shelters, scooter parking and bike lanes with direct access to the platform; electric vehicle parking and charging stations; and covered, heated 12-car platform;
- There are plans to add a future carpool lot
