20th Shining Through Gala

Shining Through Centre celebrated their 20th year with their Annual Gala Fundraiser at the Embassy Grand. Over 1200 supporters participated and enjoyed great company, food and entertainment. Funds raised fromm their raffles, live auction and silent auction will go towards helping the students at the shining through centre. Representatives for the various levels of government were present. A video with greetings from the Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his support of the centre enhanced the evening. Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua on behalf of the City of Vaughan made a commitment of $10 000 each year over several years. Also present was Darryl Sittler with signed jerseys promoted raising significant funds in the live auction.
Shining Through was founded by five families and is a non-for-profit charitable organization and a recognized leader in the field of autism, providing service excellence in therapy, education, research and awareness to affected children and their families. Though their work, they provide intensive, comprehensive, and individualized therapeutic programs to each of their children, based on the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (AVA). The Centre has three locations - Woodbridge, Beecroft and Streetsville.
