Lupus Ontario Italian Dinner Dance & Silent Auction
SNAPD
April 1, 2019

Lupus Ontario, based in Markham, recently held an Italian Dinner Dance, a memorable evening for all involved. The organization provides a number of services including: supporting, educating and advocating for people with Lupus. Lupus is an autoimmune disorder that can be life-threatening and the Dinner Dance, combined with its fundraising silent auction, was an excellent opportunity for guests to support this important cause while having a good time too. The evening featured an antipasto bar with a full sit down dinner, open bar and then plenty of dancing! Raffles, a 50/50 draw, door prizes and a silent auction rounded out the affair combined with speeches, including one by Linda Keill - the President of Lupus Ontario. Held at the Riviera Event Centre, it was a great night and thanks to all who attended.
Lupus Ontario arose from a need for support, education and awareness. This gap was filled in 1978 by a dedicated group of patients. Lupus Ontario is a volunteer organization that started as the Ontario Lupus Association, incorporated provincially in 1998 and amalgamated with the Hamilton Lupus Society in 2004 . Honey Agar was a founding member and our visionary first president whose leadership started Lupus Ontario.
