As the snow melts and those potholes become even more apparent, it’s time again to nominate the worst streets that you have the misfortune to travel.
The Canadian Automobile Association has launched its annual worst roads campaign, inciting commuters to weigh in on the most horrible routes they use.
While a CAA survey in advance of the campaign shows that 60 per cent of respondents don’t believe roads are being repaired in a timely fashion, the campaign does reinforce to politicians the importance of making our streets better, a spokesperson said.
“The simple act of participating in the CAA Worst Roads campaign can help various levels of government understand what roadway improvements are top of mind for road users, and where improvements could be prioritized,” Raymond Chan, government relations specialist for CAA South Central Ontario, said in a statement.

Does York Region's new tax to speed up road widenings make sense?
“We want to know what roads are seen as pain points for Ontarians. Whether the issue is congestion, potholes, road signage or challenges around pedestrian and cycling safety, CAA wants to hear from you."
No York Region streets were on last year’s worst provincial roads, but Hwy. 7 in Vaughan and Markham was considered among the worst in the 905 area.
