Thinking about some work done on your properties in Richmond Hill’s downtown core? The town may have got you covered, mostly.

Richmond Hill is providing grants up to $90,000 for downtown property owners who are planning to renovate or redevelop the buildings through the Community Improvement Plan (CIP).

Two type of grants -- Building Renovation Grant and Facade Improvement, landscape and Signage Grant -- are currently available for eligible property owners or tenants before April 30, 2019.

Building renovation grant provides a cost-shared grant of up to 90 per cent of eligible costs or a maximum of $90,000 for building renovations for the purpose of creating new office space within the downtown local centre properties.

Façade improvement, landscape and signage grant, on the other hand, provides a cost-shared grant of up to 90 of eligible costs of projects ranging in value from $1,800 to $45,000 that are related to the revitalization of the Downtown Business Improvement Area (BIA) properties.

The projects must be completed by Mar. 31, 2020.

To apply, please fill out and email your completed CIP Grant Application Form along with your supporting documents (project description, drawings, etc.) to planning@richmondhill.ca.

After receiving your documents, staff will contact you regarding the next steps. Please refer to the CIP Grant Application Guide and the Community Improvement Plan (CIP) to help you with your application regarding grant program details, eligibility and submission requirements.
