Power has been restored for over 150,000 customers in Richmond Hill and Vaughan after multiple outages left them in the dark
Alectra Utilities said it was likely due to loss of supply from Hydro One.
Hydro One spokesperson Tiziana Baccega Rosa said it was a discovered it was a fuse that tripped at their Claireville Transmission Station in the Woodbridge area.
“In this instance, the stations supply a lot of power and as that power is moving through the system, if there is an issue, and in this case there was, protection and control equipment operates to actually contain that,” said Baccega Rosa. “So the fuse tripped, protection and control equipment operated as it should’ve and stopped that from going any further.”
Crews are working to remedy the tripped fuse and they don’t anticipate any further issues.
