Local heroes are wanted by the Town of Aurora.

Volunteers in Aurora are local heroes who are always willing to extend a helping hand, and their selfless work helps build a caring community, inspiring others to follow in their footsteps. The town wants to honour the individuals, groups and businesses that enhance the community.

The town is asking members of the public to identify these heroes and nominate them for the following Community Recognition Awards:

• Volunteer Service Awards for 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years of service
• Youth Volunteer Award
• Green Award
• Arts and Culture Award
• Community Leadership Award
• Good Neighbour Award
• Good Business Award
• Inclusivity Award
• Community Safety Award
• Citizen of the Year Award

Nomination forms can be downloaded at Aurora.ca and must be submitted by April 5.

Winners will be contacted by the end of April and invited to a ceremony to be held in the Town of Aurora council chambers on May 27 sponsored by community partners Food in Motion, Print Graphics Inc., Rotary Club of Aurora and Symposium Cafe.
