What has four paws, is extra furry and has a whole lot of unconditional love to give? Your dog. You just haven’t found the lovable hound yet. Here are some ideas to get you started:
1) Georgina Animal Shelter & Adoption Centre

2) Animal Services -- the City of Vaughan
- Adopters must be 18 years or older and fill out an application before approval. Estimated annual cost of having a dog: $2,601, according to Canadian Veterinary Medical Association statistics from 2013. Vaughan’s site links to this cost breakdown.

4) Dog Tales Rescue, King City
- Kennels are open to the public every Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. to view available dogs and see which dogs would be the right fit. Dog handlers are always on site to make recommendations and answer questions.
