The City of Vaughan has a long-standing tradition of helping not-for-profit organizations that provide essential programs and services to residents in Vaughan and beyond. Every year, City staff support the United Way Greater Toronto by taking part in a variety of fundraising efforts to create opportunities and offer resources that help individuals build a better future. In a special presentation at Committee of the Whole on Jan. 22, Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council, along with Interim City Manager Tim Simmonds and City of Vaughan United Way committee member Patrick Mangion, presented a cheque to Samantha Cook, the manager of corporate donor relations at the United Way Greater Toronto. As part of the Spirit of Generosity commitment, Mayor Bevilacqua pledged $15,000, bringing the campaign total to $86,087.
