City of Vaughan Inauguration of Council

Surrounded by family, friends and citizens, Vaughan Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council were sworn into office during the inaugural meeting of the 2018 to 2022 Term of Council. The ceremony was presided over by City Clerk Todd Coles. Mayor Bevilacqua was introduced by Flight Sgt. Goral Prajapati of the 283 Woodbridge Air Cadets before delivering his third keynote inaugural address. The Mayor spoke at length about Vaughan's future and the way forward for the City, declaring that he is committed to bring the first university to Vaughan and York Region during this new Term of Council. Following the official ceremony, Mayor Bevilacqua and Council joined members of the community for a reception held at the Terrace Banquet Centre, featuring Master of Ceremonies Andrea Trentadue of CHIN-TV and with live performances by the band SOULAR.
