Are you ready to celebrate the year of the Pig?
That’s what this year is as we get ready for Chinese New Year, which happens on Tuesday, Feb. 5, and which is fast coming up.
Markham has plenty of celebrations upcoming.
Leading off are multiple Federation of Chinese Canadians in Markham celebrations:
- Saturday, Feb. 2: King Square Shopping Plaza, 136 Markham St., Markham; noon to 3 p.m.
- Monday, Feb. 4: Pacific Mall; Kennedy and Steeles, Markham; 10 p.m. to 12:01 a.m.
- Tuesday, Feb. 5: Pacific Mall: Kennedy and Steeles, Markham; 2:30 p.m.
- Sunday, Feb. 10: Markham Civic Centre, 101 Town Centre Blvd., 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Chinese New Year at Markville Mall, Hwy 7 and McCowan Road; Saturday, Feb. 9; 12:30 p.m.
Abundant Life Institute Chinese New Year Celebration; 105 Gibson Dr., Markham; Saturday, Feb. 9; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
2019 LunarFest presented by Vendome at Varley Art Gallery, 216 Main Street, Unionville; Saturday, Feb. 16, from 11 to 4; Sunday, Feb. 17, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
