Jolly Ol' St Nick arrived to the City of Vaughan on November 25th at the 19th Annual Santafest Parade. Hundreds filled Major Mackenzie Drive that day in anticipation for his arrival. The afternoon began with some pre-parade fun at the block party. Families with young children were welcome to enjoy a variety of different activities just before the parade. The parade then commenced at 2pm. A variety of floats, bands and mascots headed east down Major Mackenzie Drive towards the Vaughan Civic Centre. Families sat together under cozy blankets and warmed up with delicious hot chocolate as they waved hello to all those in the parade that walked by. Before Santa Claus arrived, his helpers went around to collect letters that any child had ready for him. Upon his arrival, excitement filled the eyes of many as Santa wished the crowd, “Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays”. The 19th Annual Annual Santafest Parade was just as successful as its past years. It was a great way to kick-off the Holiday season in Vaughan.
