ROAD CLOSURE: Highway 7 closed following gas leak in Vaughan

Vaughan Fire and York Regional Police are on scene at Pine Valley and Wigwoss Drive

Eastbound and westbound Highway 7 lanes are closed at Pine Valley and Wigwoss Drive for a gas leak.

On Dec. 20, an excavator in the area doing construction hit a gas line. The incident was reported to York Regional Police at 2:16 p.m.

Vaughan Fire responded to the area as well to handle the scene. Fire crews and YRP are waiting for Enbridge to attend the scene to shut off the gas.

Vaughan Fire tweeted shortly after 3:00 p.m. that the road closures would extend into the evening rush hour.

YRP advised commuters to reroute their drive home.
