EllisDon awarded $239M contract to overhaul Vaughan's Rutherford GO station

EllisDon has won a $239-million contract to overhaul the Rutherford GO station in Vaughan.
The construction company announced on its website Dec. 17 that it will begin design work immediately, with construction to follow in the spring and completion slated for 2023.
The project to revamp the Rutherford GO station, which is a stop on the Barrie line, will see the building of a new multi-level parking structure with an integrated station building
In addition, the station will undergo redesigning to its surface parking, kiss and ride, and bus loop.
There will also be work to enhance pedestrian access to the station by having new rail platforms, a second heavy rail track and provision for a future third express track, as well as a grade separation between the tracks and Rutherford Road.
